While we are optimistic borders will be open in time for Snow Machine 2021, we realise nothing is certain. We will therefore be offering the following cancellation options on packages and tickets if we are unable to carry out the event due to imposed government restrictions:

1) Event Cancellation, But Mountain/Region Remains Open

If the event is cancelled (as opposed to postponed) due to COVID-19 or otherwise, but you are permitted to visit the region in which the event is taking place and use the ski lifts during the relevant period, then you will be entitled to request:

  1. a credit of all sums paid for the event ticket element of the package (without deductions), which can be used towards future Snow Machine events in Japan or Queenstown (valid for purchases within 12 months of cancellation); or
  2. a refund of sums paid to us for the event ticket element of the package less an amount to cover the costs of ticketing, but you will not be entitled to a refund of other package elements.

2) Event Cancellation and Mountain/Region Closes

If the event is cancelled (as opposed to postponed) due to COVID-19 or otherwise and the ski lifts are completely closed and/or you are not permitted into the region as a result of an imposed government directive(s) (as opposed to recommendations), then you will be entitled to request:

  1. a credit or refund for the event ticket element of the package (as outlined in paragraph 1 above); and
  2. a refund of the accommodation and lift pass elements of the package you’d paid for, less an amount to cover the costs of ticketing (including any third party administration fees)

3) Border/Regional Closures

If you are not located within the region in which the event will take place at the relevant time and you are not permitted to enter the region in which the event is being held as a result of a government directive related directly to COVID-19 (e.g. New Zealand closed its borders), then you will be entitled to request:

  1. a credit or refund for the event ticket element of the package (as outlined in paragraph 1 above); and
  2. a refund of the accommodation and lift pass elements of the package you’d paid for, less an amount to cover the costs of ticketing (as outlined in paragraph 2 above)

4) Covid Isolation

If you are permitted to enter the region in which the event is being held, but:

  1. you would be required to quarantine for 14 days or more in such country as a result of a government directive related directly to COVID-19; or
  2. you have tested positive to COVID-19 (and can prove it) within a period of 14 days prior to the event, then you would be entitled to request:
  3. a credit or refund for the event ticket element of the package (as outlined in paragraph 1 above); and
  4. a refund of the accommodation and lift pass elements of the package you’d paid for, less an amount to cover the costs of ticketing (as outlined in paragraph 2 above).
  5. We will not be responsible for any costs relating to border closures once departed, including extra accommodation costs and/or mandatory quarantine.
