Originally making music in Bondi basement in 2001 SSS underwent a few changes before it was just Connie Mitchell and Angus McDonald making beautiful music together. A series of singles at first then, in 2006, they released their self-titled album which went to number 5 of the ARIA Charts and went 3 x platinum. With a spectacular list of chart topping hits – UFO, Pictures and I Love It – Sneaky Sound System won ARIA Awards for Breakthrough Artist and Best Dance Release, the first of 14 nominations to-date. I Love It broke the record for the longest charting single at 69 weeks.
Supporting and playing alongside a number of well known artists including Robbie Williams, Kanye West, Snoop Dog and Rick Ross. In addition they performed their own tours and festivals including Electric Picnic, Big Day Out, Homebake, Good Vibrations, Splendour in the Grass and many international festivals. The group’s next single, Pictures, was released on their second album, which reached No. 19 and became the second in the Dance-Electronica category of the 2007 International Songwriting Competition. The fifth single from the album, UFO was released in April, which reached No. 11, is their highest single peak. The last single from the album, Goodbye was released in October, which peaked at No. 33, almost three years after the first single. During November that year the band embarked on its first major tour, 2007: A Spaced Out Odyssey.
