Ball Park Music

Brisbane’s melancholic pop masters, Ball Park Music are made of five curious minds that thrive on musical experimentation. Their inventiveness is akin to that of UK supergroup Superorganism’s playful collaboration; the Avalanches’ ability to synchronise diverse genres, and Elliott Smith’s knack for carrying sadness with an honest wit.

In seven years, they’ve produced five albums – the last four having consecutively debuted in the top 10 of the ARIA charts. The band continue to sell out bigger venues each time they tour and regularly appear on the Australian festival circuit! 2020 saw the release of Ball Park Music’s 6th LP and first self-titled album. It debuted at #2 on the ARIA Charts – their fifth to crack the ARIA Top 10 – and saw the band hold 6 spots in ARIA’s Vinyl Albums Top 10 Chart. The band celebrated release week with 13 sold out shows at Brisbane’s Triffid, triple j’s feature album of the week, performed on triple j’s Like A Version and receiving a nomination for triple j’s Australian album of the year. The album was also nominated for 3 ARIA Awards, including Best Independent Release, Best Rock Album, and Best Australian Live Act. Their single ‘Cherub’ from the album has since amassed upwards of 7 million streams and landed #4 on the 2020 triple j hottest 100.

In 2021, Ball Park Music released their latest summer single ‘Sunscreen’ to an ecstatic audience, teasing the possibility of a new album in the works…
